Competencies

1. Communication - This document was a collaborative one between group members and myself during our learning design process. We had to respectfully, yet effectively communicate our desires, changes, feedback and critics carefully. Document

2. Critical Thinking and Analysis - The following paper was written as a critical analysis of the learning design process. This meets the competency due to the fact that critical thinking was the key ingredient in this product. It forced me to analyze the process and give my own thoughts and opinions based on my experience.

   

3. Quantitative Reasoning - Using the data analyzed in this video I made, I was able to understand the reasons why there was a gender gap in STEM programs (the topic of my project). Given this quantitative and qualitative data, I was able to draw conclusions that were relative to the initial problem. Video

4. Leadership, Facilitation, Collaboration - The following is a snapshot of a collaborative project I completed in my LDT 640 course. This meets the competency due to the fact that each member of the group had to play the role of the leader and facilitator. Collaboration and cooperation was key in completing our projects successfully.

   

5. Learning Design - This most recent course I design showcases my best abilities at learning design and project management. I created this course form scratch for a client I found on my own. We went through the entire design process from start to finish including usability testing, feedback, and critiques.

   

6. Learning Analytics - These two surveys, both given before learners were to take an actual course, highlighted the needs, capabilities and environment of the learner. This data was then used to help shape the course and make any changes deemed necessary. Survey 1 Survey 2

7. Technology and Media - This same video from above that I created analyzing results from a survey given to STEM leaders showcases my ability to utilize technology in an educational way. I filmed, edited, and uploaded this video to my YouTube channel in the hopes of educating others. Video

8. Project Management - As stated above, this most recent course showcases my best abilities at learning design and project management. This project required organization, deadlines and accountability. If I didn't manage this project well, it would not have turned out successfully.
